Release notes: POS 3.0.20.1 (29 September 2026)

This release extends the Gift Aid check at payment so that it also covers add-ons (ancillary items). If an eligible add-on is in the cart and no Gift Aid decision has been recorded, POS now asks the operator to confirm or decline Gift Aid before payment proceeds. There are no database changes in this release.

Gift Aid prompt now appears for eligible add-ons

Jira: EXN-455

Issue

If an eligible add-on was in the cart and the cart was refreshed, the Gift Aid step could be skipped, so the operator was not asked whether the customer wished to claim Gift Aid.

Fix

When a cart containing an eligible add-on has no Gift Aid decision recorded, POS now shows the "Claim Gift Aid?" prompt before payment starts, in the same way as for other Gift Aid eligible items. Choosing to claim opens the Gift Aid contact details flow; choosing to decline records the decision and payment continues.

Testing

Suggested: 1. Add a Gift Aid eligible add-on to a cart without confirming or declining Gift Aid.

Suggested: 2. Refresh the cart so the normal Gift Aid step is skipped.

Suggested: 3. Go to the payment screen and tap a payment method. The "Claim Gift Aid?" prompt should appear before payment starts.

Suggested: 4. Choose to claim Gift Aid and complete the contact details. You should return to the payment screen with Gift Aid claimed, and payment can proceed.

Suggested: 5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 and decline instead. Payment should continue as normal, and tapping a payment method again on the same cart should not show the prompt a second time.

Suggested: 6. Repeat on both mobile and desktop POS.
