v3.3.1 Release Notes

Modified on Wed, 2 Sep at 5:37 PM

These release notes for v3.3.1 primarily focus on critical fixes and refinements for the Design Museum’s launch on Version 3. The updates address key stability issues identified during UAT, specifically targeting membership renewals, donation logic in the booking flow, and payment processing for invoice-paid orders.

Cancel renewal triggers 500 error on cart update

V3-342

Description of fix: Fixed an issue where attempting to refund or cancel a membership renewal (order amendment) failed with a 500 error. The fix ensures that the subscription update cart is correctly formatted for the inventory service.

Testing guidance: On a membership order that has been renewed with Direct Debit, select Cancel renewal → Refund → Automatic → Complete refund. Verify the refund completes successfully, the renewal is removed from the order, and the membership reverts to its original expiry date.

Cannot turn off donations in booking flow

V3-341

Description of fix: Resolved a regression where the "Include donations" toggle in the B2C booking flow was stuck "on" and would instantly flip back if toggled off. The enforced default now applies only once when the market overview loads, allowing users to successfully opt-out.

Testing guidance: Open the booking flow and toggle Include Donations to off. Verify it stays off and donation pricing is removed. Interact with the "When" (date) and "Who" (guest) pickers to ensure the toggle does not flip back on automatically.

Cancelling an Invoice-paid order gets stuck on "Payment form is still loading"

V3-339

Description of fix: Fixed a race condition that occurred when cancelling an order originally paid via Invoice with a £0.00 cancellation fee. Previously, the UI would show a stuck "payment form is still loading" message alongside a checkout session error.

Testing guidance: Cancel an invoice-paid order that results in a £0.00 fee. Verify the system briefly lands on the payment step (with no payment options shown) and then completes immediately to the "Order cancelled" confirmation screen.

Amending an Invoice-paid order with Stripe payment fails with "Cart is not fully paid for"

V3-338

Description of fix: Fixed an issue where amending an invoice-paid order and paying the delta via Stripe failed with a 403 error. The Stripe charge now correctly includes the unpaid invoice balance so the charge matches the checkout total.

Testing guidance: Create a new order and pay via Invoice. Amend the order (e.g., change ticket quantity) and pay for the amendment using Stripe. Verify the payment completes and the card is charged the full total (amendment delta + original invoice amount).

Membership account renewal DD payment type defaults to card

V3-336

Description of fix: Fixed a bug where membership renewals defaulted to card payment even when Direct Debit was selected. The Stripe checkout logic has been updated to correctly identify renewals and surface the Direct Debit pathway.

Testing guidance: Log into a membership account and select Renew membership. Choose Direct Debit as the payment method. Verify the payment form correctly loads the Direct Debit details at the DD price rather than pushing for card details.

Amending entitlement confirmation wording B2C

V3-332

Description of fix: Updated the wording on the checkout confirmation page for entitlements to improve clarity for members.

Testing guidance: Complete a membership purchase or amendment. Verify the confirmation page now reads: "You’ll receive a confirmation email shortly, which you can use to enjoy your free exhibition entry straight away."

Invariant Failure error

V3-331

Description of fix: Resolved an "Invariant Failure" error that appeared when a guest attempted to create an account or log in from the basket. The fix ensures the locally cached basket is preserved through the login/sign-up process.

Testing guidance: While logged out, add a gift voucher to the basket and click Create an account or log in. Sign up with a fresh email and confirm the code. Verify that you are logged in successfully without a red "Invariant failed" toast appearing.
